We have six Trustees:
Ron Overton, Chair of Trustees
Ron has a BA in theology, a Diploma in pastoral counselling and an MBA. He has extensive experience of leading and running organisations working with young people and those needing support, including across learning disabilities, emotional and mental health issues and those at risk of exclusion. He was also a Baptist Minister for 11 years. He has a considerable track record in organisational development and in fundraising. He has personal experience too as his son had substantial emotional and mental health issues during his late teenage years. Ron brings leadership, vision and partnership building to his role.
Chris Wright, Charity Treasurer
Chris has a BSC in electrical engineering and has an impressive track record of business launch and development . He rose to the rank of Colonel in the army and has used his leadership and team building skills to develop his businesses- including a consultancy business helping others to do so. He is well connected and happy to leverage those connections for the charity. He has a particular heart for young people and works through cricket to help young people with disabilities and other issues.
Greg Downing, Charity Secretary
Greg has an MBA and has a great deal of experience of project management, both commercially and across the voluntary sector. He is a skilled trainer and mentor and also has a passion for health and well being, training people in fitness and wholeness as part of that approach. He has a background in IT support and development and in communications generally. Greg is also a trustee of a family charity and is concerned to work with people in their relational context.
Andrew Sykes
Andrew Sykes is Chairman of the RHG Insurance group – a substantial insurance and investment company which he set up and developed himself over 20 years. He has a BA in insurance administrations and qualifications in business studies and IT. He has extensive contacts and a very strong reputation across the region for quality of the company’s staff and products. He is very committed to youth work and supports and volunteers for a community boating association with similar groups. He is a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, a member of Rotary, and a freeman of London.
Laura Kennedy
Laura is a registered nurse and has a diploma in management, she is also an experienced needs and disability assessor. she often runs her own business in offering care and support to people with special needs and mental health issues and brings a very strong ethical dimension to her care models. Her background includes having been a service manager for Luton Borough Council supporting similar jobs. She is passionate about the need and power of good relational support models.
Olivier Carion
Olivier is a Business Development Consultant, including working with international brands like Nestle, and CSG International, also with a wide range of national and regional clients. He works with the Sales Marketing Guild to help companies market and promote their business and drive sales. Olivier is passionate about helping young people and delighted to be a Board Member at Transitions UK.
