Transitions UK – Charity Regn No 1160105
Ron Overton and some of our founding Trustees first talked about person centred care as the vision for Transitions UK on a Charity Trek up to Everest base camp! Ron shared his vision to make a significant difference to the lives of vulnerable young people across the UK and those Trustees caught that vision immediately. The spectacular backdrop of the Himalayas helped keep the vision big and bright! As they developed their thinking about how person centred care could work with the vulnerable children and young adults they wanted to help and began planning, they began seeking other Trustees who would share those ambitions and help to achieve them. They wanted to make a difference to the next generation and ensure Transitions UK was sustainable through changing times, and economic challenges, as well as being run professionally with good governance and ethical values. There is now a great team in place and we are excited about what the future holds.
Our first project, ACHIEVE, was launched in Luton in November 2015 – and so the journey began!
