Transitions UK Purple Days
We are calling on all local businesses to support Transitions UK by taking part in our ‘Wear it Purple’ Day.
Transitions UK, are a charity dedicated to providing support and care to disadvantaged young people in our local communities, we currently run three projects across Bucks, Beds, Herts and North London.
Achieve – for young people with learning disabilities
Attain – for young people leaving care
Aspire – for young people at risk of criminal exploitation or offending
We have been working tirelessly to ensure that the support we provide to our young people has been maintained and even developed throughout Covid-19. Without the help of our amazing supporters, this would not have been possible. The work that we do as a charity is so imperative to our young people’s lives, especially in this time of uncertainty and isolation.
We have had some amazing success stories throughout this time, including one of our young care leavers from the Attain project, continuing her volunteering work with Sofea, Fareshare in Milton Keynes. This resulted in her being interviewed and offered a paid, full time role for the first time in her life. Amazing!
Through working with a therapist the charity organised for her and through continuous contact and work with her mentor, this young person has achieved one of her main life goals. All of this has happened whilst dealing with her mental health and being isolated and away from her normal circle of people.
This is what your involvement and support can help us and our young people to achieve. It’s something they and we are so proud of. We aim to maintain these strong relationships and support to enable our young people to continue on their road to success.
So, what can you do to help? There are a number of ways you can help, either individually or through your business. Give us a call to discuss or check out info on our website.
