Volunteering Policy

Volunteering is an important part of what Transitions UK do. We recognise that volunteering remains integral part of our work and what we achieve. We also understand that volunteering can help to improve the quality of life for both those who take part or are the beneficiaries of volunteering activity.

Safeguarding Policy

Transitions UK is committed to practices and approaches which protect Children and Vulnerable Adults from harm and promote their welfare. Staff and Volunteers (which includes Trustees) working with the Charity accept and recognise their responsibilities to develop awareness of issues which cause children, young people and vulnerable adults harm.

Social Media Policy

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers (including trustees) and casual workers and provides the acceptable standards for the use of social-media and web-based technology. This policy should be read in conjunction with the Safeguarding Policy. This policy will form the basis of training and induction for all staff and volunteers.

Transitions UK Data Protection/GDPR Policy

Transitions UK is fully committed to compliance with the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA). We are required to maintain certain personal data about individuals for the purposes of satisfying our operational and legal obligations.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to information we, Transitions UK, collect about individuals who interact with our organisation, including volunteers and beneficiaries and all others we contact and work with. It explains what personal information we collect and
how we use it.

Risk Management Policy

Managing risk is seen as a key organisational responsibility and is seen as integral to the management and governance of the Charity. We recognise that effective risk management is achieved by ensuring that the whole staff and volunteer team is engaged with managing and mitigating risk.

Health and Safety Policy

Transitions UK is committed to the Health and Safety of its employees, volunteers and all who use or visit our premises or take part in our activities in any way.

We will advise and train our staff and volunteers appropriately to support their safety and wellbeing in the workplace – whether in our centre or at any other venue we may use for the delivery of services.

Equal Opportunities Policy

Transitions UK supports the principle of equal opportunities and opposes discrimination on the basis of age, sex, marriage and civil partnership, gender reassignment, race, disability, sexual orientation, religion or belief, pregnancy and maternity and part-time or fixed-term employment (defined as Protected Characteristics).
