So what’s next?
We are ambitious to change young lives
across the UK and to make a difference at local,
regional and national level, and potentially
beyond that too.
We want to have a growing impact on the provision available for the most vulnerable young people in the UK and to offer the opportunity for a brighter and better future to as many young people as possible.
Our aim
We aim to become a national charity with a national footprint and a national voice for young people. We currently work across Herts, Beds, Bucks and N London and run transformational projects and services for 200 young people, providing over 50,000 hours of support per year. Here are some of our forward plans.
2021
Launch our Affirm Mental Health Project into N London, with a view to replication and expansion from there
Launch the Attain (care leavers) project into Birmingham and Bedfordshire
Launch the Aspire (youth offending) project into Leicester
Launch “Aspire Plus” for young people leaving alternative provisions (e.g with challenging behaviour etc) in Bedfordshire
Launch at least two scalable social enterprises to both bring in funds and provide paid work and work experience for young people. Options include coffee shops, cleaning companies, catering companies, pet sitting and walking services and more
Increase face to face numbers to at least 300 young people
Extend and develop our Virtual Project at three levels:
a blended service of virtual and face to face provision across all our physical hubs and delivery centres
a light touch service that offers mentoring and skills and personal development via integrated virtual platforms
a broad resource service making tools, approaches and help available to whoever needs them
2022
Further develop virtual services so that we are actively reaching at least 500 young people with our light touch active mentoring services in addition to our face to face blended delivery and the resource service
Replicate or extend all projects, providing at least a 50% growth in face to face/blended services, increasing to at least 500 young people overall and over 100,000 hours of support.
launch at least two more scalable social enterprises.
Launch the “best fit” projects (what us most needed, where) into adjoining authorities.
2023
Continue the process of expansion and replication and including into the North East and North West as well as developing the midlands provision
Grow numbers supported face to face services to at least 750 young people
Grow numbers supported by virtual mentoring to at least 2000 young people, adding 50% per annum beyond that.
Grow numbers accessing our virtual resources to at least 2000 young people and doubling every year for the next four years at least.
Develop our trading and social enterprises into branded solutions for employment and income generation.
launch our campaigning arm to challenge provision and practice for young people at all levels, politically and at local and regional authority level and to ensure we invest in their and our future together. That will include campaigning for a root and branch overhaul of our outdated education system, especially for those young people who don’t fit.
2024 and beyond
Maintain growth and impact levels and research how best we can make a difference and where that difference is needed most. That will include internationally as well as nationally.
Reach and transform the lives of 50,000 young people each year by 2030.
Keep believing and pushing and working for change and better things!
