What is the couch to 5k challenge?
The concept is to take people from doing no exercise at all through to being able to run 5K – or 3.1 miles if you prefer – after following a training plan.
It’s not that simple, of course, as every individual will be starting from a different point: a different level of fitness, a different day-to-day lifestyle and a different health outlook. However, the joy of the programme is that anyone can follow it and set their own goals!
Your Couch to 5k journey starts whenever you want it to start but we recommend checking with your GP before making any changes to your lifestyle.
Once you book on, we will send you the training plan and details how to set up your Total Giving page and then the hard work starts!

Why should I get involved? What are the benefits for me?
You can set your own goals that are realistic for you
Physical health improvements -Better heart and lung health, increased joint strength and stability and a reduced chance of chronic illnesses such as heart disease and type 2 diabetes.
Mental health improvements - Better lifestyle, improved mindset and developing more motivation
You be providing life changing opportunities to many vulnerable young people across Herts, Beds, Bucks and North London.
What will my funds go towards?
As an example £100 will provide a face to face or virtual therapy input session for 10 young people! and £500 will provide a 2 hour virtual learning session for up to 100 young people (all integrated within mentoring follow-up!
